She's sleeping, out for the night. She did have a refreshing smiley stretch before bedtime, but not before I captured that pitiful lower lip for posterity.
Oh- how sweet. In a sad sort of a way. I have a pic of Thing One crying her heart out, and my mom always wondered why I'd take a picture of that. I figured that it was because that's how she was then. As much as when she was all grins. And both faces were my baby.
Yeah, I thought the pout was rather cute, and it is part of who she is. I have vague memories of being around eight years old and having a movie camera pointed at me when I was upset and crying about something, and feeling rather wounded by it all, so I don't think I'll be taking many of these. But when you love 'em you can help but think they're gorgeous and photo worthy even when they're sad.
Awesome picture! That is one of those that you keep for special occasions - like wedding days and other public events when she is old enough to be embarassed in front of friends and family...
I grew up on the coast, and it's always felt like home. I lived in the interior for almost a decade, but a few years ago, work brought me back to the coast.
I'd forgotten how much peace I could recover, just sitting on the shore watching the waves.
Since then I've become a mom, twice, and covered a lot of ground. Gone Coastal is a place for me to post some of my many random thoughts on life and friends and faith.
I strive to write truthfully, sometimes brutally, though far from everything here is deep. Sometimes it's just sharing a moment or a thought.

That was pretty much the Bear's plan, too.
